Down & Connor Ventures held a recent overnight at Downpatrick Scout Hall.
Ventures and Scouters from Downpatrick, 6th Antrim, 7th Antrim, 9th Antrim, 29th Belfast and 31st Belfast enjoyed exploring primitive firelighting methods at Finnebrogue Bushcraft under the expert tuition of Rob and George.
There were some very frustrated scouters who persevered to eventually get a fire by friction! Other methods included char cloth and using punk wood to make fire starters. Great time had by all on a particularly mild November afternoon.
We made our way back to Downpatrick Scout Den where we played name games to get to know each other, played a few games of darts, had pizza and watched “Mamma Mia”. Emmanuel and Andy really enjoyed the film. Andy singing and Emmanuel dancing!
